CisionScoop: Kelli Fuqua Hart has been named publisher and editor in chief for Family Times Magazine, serving families in Marion County, Florida. Hart was formerly an editor for Ocala Magazine.
CisionScoop: The Santa Fe New Mexicanhas parted ways with Bruce Krasnow. Most recently Krasnow was business editor and senior business reporter, and previously was assistant city and features editor. He will be working with a private company and may occasionally contribute to the paper.
USA Today has announced Nicole Carrollas its new editor in chief. She recently finished her tenure as executive editor and vice president for the Arizona Republic, and officially joins USA Today on March 7.
Caroline Chen has left Bloomberg and will join Propublica on March 1 to cover healthcare. Chen joined Bloomberg News at the San Francisco bureau in 2013 covering the intersection of the pharmaceutical and Silicon Valley. h/t Talking Biz News
WBUR-FM has dismissed TomAshbrook. The former host of On Pointhad been placed on leave last November. Ashbrook previously worked as a host and managing editor for NPR, and was a correspondent for The Boston Globe and The South China Morning Post.
Rachel E. Stassen-Berger has been named politics editor for the Des Moines Register. Stassen-Berger has served as Minnesota Capitol bureau chief for the St. Paul Pioneer Press since 2015. She will join the Iowa newspaper in mid-March.
MIT Technology Review has named Megan McCarthy as executive editor, effective Feb. 20. A veteran tech journalist, McCarthy has written for Fortune, Reuters, New York Observer, Mediagazer, Techmeme and Valleywag.
Jennifer Schulze has been hired by the Chicago Sun-Times to serve as executive producer overseeing new media. A season television news director, Schulze has overseen news operations for WGN-TV, WBBM-TV and WFLD-TV in Chicago.
The Intercept welcomed Michael Whitney as its newsletter editor and email strategist. Whitney is a former political campaign strategist and consultant.
Kaitlyn Munro has decamped from Spectrum News Buffalo to become a public information officer for the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. Munro had been senior assignment editor for Spectrum news since 2011.
